Working on Saturday???

Well there was no progress on Thursday and I suspect that there was no power due to the storm on Wednesday. The first three pictures below were taken on Friday. You can see the additional bricks by the different color mortar. The garage and front are up to the first level. So the brickies have done their first lap of the house. This has taken one week. The two below are pictures taken on Saturday. Yes Saturday! We just missed the brickies who spent the morning there. It was a neighbour who mentioned that the boys were busy this morning. What -- Really? We went around the side and realised that the kitchen side was also complete. Its amazing how much you can miss. Also the rubbish from the cage has been taken away.

Looking good! Good to see the brickies are moving along! I see you've altered the window size in bedroom 4. Did you so this with B2 as well? We've changed B2 and B4 to be the same as B3! I like the little square windows. Are they all in the kitchen?

Hi H2B, We had made all 3 bedroom windows the same size but we had to change Bed 4 to the high long window because of overlooking the neighbours.
I was wondering if anyone had noticed the windows in the kitchen!! There is one window either side of the cooktop, they fit almost exactly between the benchtop and the overhead cupboards. We also reduced the size of the pantry window to match so that we can put overhead cupboards along the pantry wall.

Cupboards ! Cupboards ! The more the better !!
The front of the house looks so tidy. Are they just not working there at the moment ? (Surely they're not concerned about image as they build !?!?)

Those square windows look really nice on the side (I'm sure they do inside as well)We had a couple put in one of our boys' bedrooms, as it was a bit dark, and we changed his ensuite window to match, so we'll have that same effect on the outside, only upstairs. Just wondering ,do those kitchen windows replace part of the splashback?

Have to agree about the cupboards Carolyn, although it may be awhile before we can actually afford the extra cupboards to go in the pantry!
The front of the house is tidy because we keep picking up all the rubbish around the house :-)
Petal - Yes the windows replace about 2/3 of the splashback. There will be splashback between the 2 windows above the cooktop and a matching splashback above the bench next to the fridge.

I realised after I posted last comment that one for was for pantry.....how could I have forgotten the PANTRY!!! Windows will look nice, I was told that if we had the windows we couldn't have the glass splashback and would have to go with tiles......

At the moment we have a 1800 x 850 window at the end of the kitchen bench/meals area. Will have to see if this is okay for a 5 star rating otherwise we can go for two 1800 x 610's on either side of the meals. We have a large buffet/hutch that I need wall space for in that room so hence the deletion of the large window. I really like the look of the long horizontal window under overheads too. I went to Pakenham display on the weekend and they have it there, would lose the glass s/back though.

So far we have been lucky with our kids rooms windows, being a new Estate there are no neighbours, hoping that the Developers will okay them.
